The AT&T 8525 by HTC

Currently I use:
AT&T 8525 running Windows Mobile 6.0

Cingular 8525[2]

Programs I use and recommend:

Necessary:

Resco Explorer ($)
Resco Photo Viewer ($)
Google Maps
NoData (Turns on/off AT&T data capability)
HTC Task Manager 1.5 (not 2.0)

Misc:

Opera Mobile 9.5 beta 2 – Pocket Internet Explorer Alternative
HTC Audio Manager (for listening to music and podcasts)
YanCEWare Reader (Scriptures)
DivX Mobile (for watching video)
The Google Search Today Plugin
NewsBreak RSS Reader (for downloading Podcasts)
SPB Mobile Shell ($) – Today Screen plug-in

($) – is not free

The AT&T 8525 (with either Win Mobile 5 or 6) does not natively support the ability to record a voice note with the ‘push and hold’ of a hardware button. This capability can be restored by using this program.

For those experiencing negative results while trying to charge your 8525 (or any other HTC device) in the car or via usb not connected to a computer, the trick is to turn off the 8525 first, and then plug it in; more useful information on this problem can be found at xda-developers.com.

Registry Hacks I have applied:
Disable “message sent” notification on Text Messages

Currently Testing:

pocketwit – Twitter client for Windows Mobile 6.0

First impressions – Awesome!
